Guest Art

Over the years I've had the pleasure of having several people do pictures of Gen or some of my other characters.  Here's some of my favorites.  I've tried to get permission from the artist whenever possible, and if you'd like to contribute (or request removal of your image) let me know!

First up is an image by Candy Lewin, AKA Trixi Bigfoot.  Her cartoony style reminds me of my own in several ways.  I was tickled to death when I got this image as a suprise one day.

From Erin Middendorf, a picture of Gen and a Fwahsheep!  I still need to do a picture for her in return... but BOY this is a gorgous picture.  I really wish I had Erin's coloring skills.

Gene Catlow, AKA Albert Temple did this as part of his CF8 con report.  This image was in responce to something he'd seen in my husband's art portfolio at CF.  I really like Gene's art, his characters are always warm and honest.

And this is the picture Gene was talking about.  Drawn by my husband with very few visual refrences.  The junk on the ground has secret meanings for us.  Try to spot the Totoro, the Feep, the coaster, the dice, and the Pepsi  can!

By Jimmy Chin when he was better known as Bunnell instead of Kohii or Yippie Coyote.  He drew this for me after I pounced him to announce that one of his pictures had sold for $250 at the CF artshow.  Very happy feller he was.

This one is by John Nunnamacher.  I think he must have been under the impression that I  was mildly hyper or something... naaaah....

And by Eric Schwartz.  The good news is that this story finally *DID* get told in his Sabrina online comic.  I wish that the $5 bill I'd given him in exchange for this picture  hadn't vanished while the book was being transported from my table to his.  If I ever find out who swiped it Immo kick their patoot!

One of my favorite renditions of Gen, this one by the amazingly talented Ken Sample.  I really like the anatomy of this picture.

Scott and I were friends long before we ever started dating or were ever engaged.  This picture was done at a con when I was particularly stressed out over how the art show was being  run.  I felt much better after clawing a certain person's shoulder a bit.

Another one of my favorites.  This one was done by the talented Scott Ruggels at my first Huzzah party.

I asked Jim Groat to draw a picture of Gen and a lizard, since I'm fond of iguanas.  This was the result.

This one is by Conrad "Lynx" Wong and was one of the first drawings he ever did for me.  He knew that I adored gryphons so decided to have a little bit of fun with my obsession.

By Ted Shepard at CFE in Ohio.  I was one of the original Caution Commandos and Ted did this for me to commemorate the event.  The little puppy is Roadkill who was born during the con.  All he says is "Argh!" which became the catchphrase for the con.

Jay Naylor, AKA Fisk did this at DragonCon last year.  He was wearing Eli's con badge so when I saw him walk by I mistook him for Eli and pounced him with a big hug.  Eli seemed much skinner, and younger than last I remembered...

I loaned my sketchbook to Lynx when he was down for Necronomicon '98, I got it back during Necronomicon '99.  I didn't mind though as I'd not gone to any cons during that time anyhow but he still found it to be a funny subject for a picture.

Another picture by my husband.  He drew this when we first started dating and just as an experiment I inked it for him.  I hope this doesn't rot your teeth or anything.

A birthday present from Shawn Mulligan.  He organized a whole suprise birthday thing for me online and this was his addition to it.  A virutal birthday card.  I was so happy!  Here Shawn decided to take a poke at my husband's love for firearms.

This was Lynx's addition to the birthday card.  I'll just quote you his caption:  "Don't worry, Detective Gen is on the case, she'll have your baby back to you soon -- what do you mean you don't have one? Well, you do now!"

This one by Andrew Thompson was interesting.  It was done for an online drawing exercise called Artists' Ambush, the premise of this particular exercise was taken from the movie 'Dark City' where everyone in a city would fall asleep at midnight and aliens would come out and replace  people's skills and lives with other things.  Here, Gen's art skill is replaced with music.

One of my favorites.  This was done after a Star Wars RPG session I ran at my house with two different PCs.  One was a Boba-Fett type run by Greywolf and the other was a black Horansi cat played by John.  The Boba-Fett guy was having a deep emotional moment with his father when John made a goofy remark -- it was the only time I've ever hurled dice at someone and Greywolf decided to comemorate the moment.
