Zoltanos Cambio of Mountain Shadow Tribe. Better known as Zoltan. Yes...
Zoltan's a guy, yes... I'm not. If you want to try and read into my psyche about this, feel free. You'll be wrong. I'm a chick. I like being a chick. Name: Zoltan, Eclipse (formerly), Shadow (currently) Aliases: Baron of Paradys, Redeemer of Shadow, The Peacemaker
Sex: Male Species: Vartan (Anthropomorphic hippogryph) Age: 41 Height: 7'2" Weight: 500lbs (none of it is fat either!) Occupation: Rephidim shop owner / Explorer Zoltan has gone from a box lifting dockworker to a war hero, a famed explorer, and later a Knight. He's a good and noble
fellow with enough strength in his arms to rip someone in half as though they were paper... but cradles children in his hands and always tries to negotiate instead of fight. His theme is 'strength', and through playing him I've learned what strength truly means. Zoltan's caring,
forgiveness, patience, and perseverance have put my own to shame time and time again. He is never pushy, arrogant, or a bully. His muscular strength and fighting strength are tools that must be tempered... and in his mind they're not what makes someone strong. I don't know where he comes from, but he's someone I'm proud to look through the eyes of from time to time. During his
adventures he's tamed a bitter slave and taught her to be a great and noble queen, he's discovered a mythical island of wonders, he's fought in battles against giant bugs, robots, cannibals, zombies, and demon queens. He's adopted children, become a merchant, and he's rediscovered his father whom he thought had died years ago. He's also discovered knighthood and is trying to make himself to be a good one, although it's proving to be his greatest test of all as his duty has so far thrust him in a position of ridicule, heresy, and helplessness as he was unable to save the very woman who inspired him to become a knight and later found that the thing that kept him from aiding her was just a trick to make his order and his country look like idiots. (It's been hard on me too as his player and I still cry over it sometimes... but it doesn't make me love playing him any less or take away my desire to play him and want to set things right).
It has not been easy. Zoltan's been branded, blinded, scarred, insulted, betrayed, and threatened. His family has suffered assassination attempts, and time and time again he's thrown his life into the stakes for the sake of doing what he feels is right. Despite all this, Zoltan has not become bitter. He still has a gentle and fair heart and loves freely and unwaveringly... even
when he gets nothing in return but pain. There are times when I feel terrible for not being more like him, all the more when the 'me' part wants to have a tantrum about how he's been mistreated and not given a chance to change anything while the 'him' part stays as paitent and loving as always. I don't play him as much anymore, not because I don't want to but I think he's graduated to a
point where there's not much
to do with him anymore or his GM is having trouble coming up with games for him. There's still a lot I'd like to do with him (He wants to do something to avenge the death of his best friend, deal with an undead queen bent on taking his daughter's soul, heal the rift between his order and the Temple, and have a crack at fighting off a menace that's coming to his home in a few years) but I'm still waiting for my chance at bat. Hopefully it'll be sometime soon. I could go on and on and on about Zoltan... but if you really want to see him in action, why don't you read some of his logs? Just click here. Zoltan later became the shadow Lancer Eclipse, and later became the Champion of Shadows. Click on their names to see their seperate threads. |
